The 990 CSE is loaded with advanced features, including a next-generation Grafixx LCD display that takes your training from typical to inspirational. The Grafixx display can either show multiple information fields (for more at-a-glance information) or a single display as large as 1-inch tall (for on-the-fly goal training). As a result, you'll always know where you stand while working out.

The elliptical trainer ups the ante with its support for iFit Live, the world's first interactive fitness solution. Compatible with your home or work WiFi network, the iFit Live system uses Google Maps software to simulate the terrain anywhere in the world. Every time you go for a run, you can run on a different trail, whether you're looking for a woods-covered dirt path or a wide-open desert road. iFit Live also lets you customize your own fitness program, receive automatic workout downloads, manage your profile online, and work out with Jillian Michaels, the tough-as-nails trainer from TV's The Biggest Loser. You can even add competition to your workout with 5k races against your Facebook friends. Other iFit Live features include a nutrition and activity tracker, motivating text messages and emails, and downloadable workout videos (the iFit Live mode requires an iFit Live module to work).

The trainer's large pedals include a traction surface for added stability during your workout.

If you don't want to access iFit, you can turn to the 990 CSE's 20 built-in programs, which include 10 Target Toning programs and 10 performance programs. Designed to work specific areas of your body--such as your glutes, quads, hamstrings, and more--the Target Toning programs automatically adjust the resistance and incline to challenge you in whole new ways. The performance workouts, meanwhile, take the guesswork out of your routine by automatically adjusting the resistance to help you focus on aerobic, weight-loss, or performance goals. As an alternative, you can automatically adjust the trainer's resistance with the touch of a button using the Quick Touch controls. The trainer offers 16 total digital resistance levels.

Topping off the list of features is ProForm's Interplay music port and Intermix Acoustics 2.0 sound system. Simply plug your iPod or MP3 player into the port to enjoy unbeatable sound quality through the system's built-in speakers. All the controls will be located within easy reach on your console. Other details include a dual grip CardioGrip heart rate monitor; a Power Intensity ramp that varies between 10 and 30 degrees; a folding SpaceSaver design for easy storage; oversized, traction-control pedals; an 18-to-20-inch adjustable stride length; and a comforting CoolAire workout fan.

The trainer, which supports up to 325 pounds, measures 27 by 66 by 81.5 inches (W x H x D) and carries a lifetime warranty on the frame and a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
